Marc Thorpe Design a créé Canton house, un refuge de montagne dans les Carpates en Roumanie. C'est un habitat hors-réseaux situé à côté d'un hôtel, le Tara Luanei, et qui est entièrement conçue en bois. Cette cabane hors réseaux se caractérise par une architecture simple et un revêtement intérieur en contreplaqué. A l'intérieur on trouve tout ce qu'il faut pour être parfaitement autonome comme un salon, une espace repas, une cuisine, une chambre et une salle de bain et une terrasse abritée. La cabane est alimentée en électricité par un générateur solaire et quatre panneaux solaires.
Il s'agit là d'expérimenter la vie dans une cabane hors-réseaux mais totalement confortable, une échappée dans la nature avec la présence rassurante d'équipements contemporains. L'avenir de l'habitat ne passe t-il pas par ce type de construction, une cabane hors réseaux respectueuse de l'environnement, qui consomme peu d'énergie et la produit elle-même, tout en vivant dans une architecture moderne, où les larges ouvertures vitrées effacent les frontières entre l'intérieur et l'extérieur? Marc Thorpe Design has created Canton house, a mountain refuge in the Carpathian Mountains in Romania. It is an off-grid dwelling located next to a hotel, the Tara Luanei, and is designed entirely from wood. It is characterised by its simple architecture and plywood interior. Inside you will find everything you need to be completely self-sufficient, such as a living room, dining area, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom and a sheltered terrace. The hut is powered by a solar generator and four solar panels.
This is an experiment in living in an off-grid but totally comfortable cabin, an escape into nature with the reassuring presence of contemporary facilities. Doesn't the future of housing lie in this type of environmentally friendly construction, which consumes little energy and produces it itself, while living in a modern architecture, where the large glass openings erase the boundaries between inside and outside?
