C'est dans un bâtiment industriel ancien de l'époque victorienne à Londres, le Connaught Works, que nous découvrons ce mini loft de 50m2 habillé de bois clair. Il a fait l'objet d'une rénovation soignée par les designers Farlam and Chandler, comme l'ensemble de l'immeuble, et est situé au premier étage du bâtiment. L'utilisation du contreplaqué de teinte claire est à la base de l'aménagement bien pensé de ce mini loft de 50m2, qui possède une chambre indépendante.
La cuisine ouverte peut se cacher derrière des portes qui s'escamotent à la demande, libérant l'espace salon et salle à manger de la vision de la zone de préparation des repas, ce qui permet de ne pas toujours la ranger parfaitement (sauf pour les photos !). Un îlot de cuisine, avec rangement intégré, peut également être déplacé pour créer plus d'espace et de flexibilité. Comme dans tous les petits appartements, les zones de stockage sont très importantes. On en trouve donc au dessus de la cuisine accessible par une échelle coulissante, ainsi que dans la chambre où tout un mur est équipé d'un dressing. It has been carefully renovated by designers Farlam and Chandler, as has the entire building, and is located on the first floor of the building. The use of light coloured plywood forms the basis of the well thought out layout of this 50m2 mini loft, which has a separate bedroom.
The open kitchen can be hidden behind doors that can be retracted on demand, freeing the living and dining area from the view of the food preparation area, so it is not always perfectly tidy (except for photos!). A kitchen island, with built-in storage, can also be moved to create more space and flexibility. As in all small flats, storage areas are very important. So there is storage above the kitchen, accessible by a sliding ladder, and in the bedroom, where a whole wall is equipped with a dressing room. What more could you want in a big city like London?
