Dans une réserve naturelle californienne, d'anciens containers maritimes se sont transformés en une petite maison container rustique imaginée par Yama & Mar Design et construite par U Unlimited. À première vue, cette cabane contemporaine en acier conserve le look industriel du container maritime : métal robuste, et silhouette minimaliste. Mais dès qu’on pousse sa porte, l’ambiance change radicalement. L’intérieur, entièrement habillé de bois, crée une atmosphère intime et chaleureuse, presque comme un chalet niché en montagne. Elle a été construite à partir de deux anciens modules maritimes de 24 et 40 pieds.
Pensée pour accueillir quatre personnes, et située face au mont Lassen et au volcan éteint Black Butte, cette petite maison container rustique hors résaux et compacte combine praticité et confort. Les équipements modernes — cuisine au propane, éclairage et chauffage alimentés par panneaux solaires — s’intègrent discrètement. Ici, on oublie l’idée d’un container froid et impersonnel : le contraste acier-bois devient un véritable atout. Le choix des constructeurs a été clair : préserver la simplicité brute de l’extérieur tout en offrant un intérieur accueillant, idéal pour se réchauffer après une journée en pleine nature. In a Californian nature reserve, old shipping containers have been transformed into a small rustic container house designed by Yama & Mar Design and built by U Unlimited. At first glance, this contemporary steel cabin retains the industrial look of a shipping container: sturdy metal and a minimalist silhouette. But as soon as you step inside, the atmosphere changes dramatically. The interior, entirely clad in wood, creates an intimate and warm atmosphere, almost like a mountain chalet. It was built from two old 24- and 40-foot shipping containers.
Designed to accommodate four people and located opposite Mount Lassen and the extinct Black Butte volcano, this small, compact, off-grid rustic container house combines practicality and comfort. Modern amenities—propane kitchen, solar-powered lighting and heating—are discreetly integrated. Here, you can forget the idea of a cold, impersonal container: the contrast between steel and wood becomes a real asset.
