En Espagne, la designer Maite Santos a créé sa maison showroom dans une maison des années 1950 délabrée qu'elle a restaurée
Construite dans les années 1950, cette maison espagnole de 90m2 a immédiatement parlé à la designer Maite Santos, malgré son état très dégradé. Le toit menaçait sérieusement, les pièces étaient cloisonnées, sombres, mais le potentiel sautait aux yeux de la professionnelle. Egalement praticienne en Feng Shui appliqué à la géobiologie, Maite Santos n’a pas hésité longtemps. Elle a choisi d’y vivre et d’y travailler, réunissant sa vie quotidienne et son travail en créant cette maison showroom pour ses clients. Ici, les visiteurs circulent librement, touchent les matières, ouvrent les rangements, testent les assises, observent les détails. L’objectif reste simple, montrer comment un intérieur pensé intelligemment améliore le quotidien. Chaque pièce devient ainsi un support concret pour comprendre ses choix d’aménagement et ses convictions.
Avant toute chose, l’isolation a redéfini le projet, avec un manteau de coton recyclé enveloppant l’ensemble. Cette enveloppe maintient une température stable, réduit les nuisances sonores et limite l’usage du chauffage. La structure a suivi, notamment un plafond entièrement repris avec de nouvelles poutres en bois. L'organisation actuelle de cette maison showroom se déploie de plain-pied, avec trois chambres, une buanderie polyvalente, deux salles de bain, un espace salon-salle à manger-cuisine et un balcon. Le style reste minimaliste, fonctionnel, naturel, avec une inspiration nordique fraiche et sans rigidité. Bois brut, céramique, papiers-peints non vinyliques et peintures minérales constituent un intérieur sain, respirant, pensé pour durer.
Built in the 1950s, this 90m2 Spanish house immediately appealed to designer Maite Santos, despite its dilapidated condition. The roof was in serious disrepair and the rooms were partitioned and dark, but the professional could see its potential. Also a practitioner of Feng Shui applied to geobiology, Maite Santos didn't hesitate for long. She chose to live and work there, combining her daily life and her work by creating this showroom house for her clients. Here, visitors can move around freely, touch the materials, open the cupboards, test the seating and observe the details. The aim is simple: to show how a cleverly designed interior can improve everyday life. Each room thus becomes a concrete example of her design choices and convictions.
First and foremost, insulation redefined the project, with a layer of recycled cotton enveloping the entire building. This envelope maintains a stable temperature, reduces noise pollution and limits the use of heating. The structure followed suit, notably with a ceiling that was completely redone with new wooden beams. The current layout of this show home is on one level, with three bedrooms, a multipurpose laundry room, two bathrooms, a living-dining-kitchen area and a balcony. Its style remains minimalist, functional and natural, with a fresh, relaxed Nordic inspiration. Raw wood, ceramics, non-vinyl wallpaper and mineral paints create a healthy, breathable interior designed to last.
